Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985 in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley while their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix demonstrated a talent for sports early in her life, and discovered her athletic abilities when she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first attempt, Felix placed second in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix got a contract to pursue a professional career with Adidas in 2003, and later enrolled in University of Southern California to take classes in elementary school. Felix received her first Olympic medal in 2004 at the Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set an unofficial Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 second. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix was named the world's youngest champion in the 200-meter race. She was able to defend the title once again in 2007, defeating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at the Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo always finishing in the top 3 in all her competitions.
