Charisma Carpenter

 

 Charisma Carpenter was born July 23, 1970. She starred as Cordelia Chase in Buffy the Vampire's supernatural drama (1997-1999) as well as the spin-off show Angel (1999-04). She also appeared on Charmed (2004), Kendall Casablancas and Veronica Mars (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell and Lacy in The Lying Game (2012–2013 strong>).

 

 

  Carpenter was born in Las Vegas (Nevada) as the daughter Christine Carpenter, a bird sanctuary worker,and Don Carpenter, an entrepreneur. Carpenter is from Spanish (from her maternal grandmother), French, German and German descent. Carpenter attended Bishop Gorman High school in Las Vegas. she was also part of a troupe of song and dance that performed in the Las Vegas Valley when she was nine years old.

 

 

  Carpenter moved her family from Rosarito Beach, Baja California to Mexico when she was 15 years old. They then moved to San Diego to California. She attended Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Carpenter traveled all over Europe after graduation. After returning to San Diego, she worked as a clerk at a video store as well as an aerobics instructor as well as in property management. In 1991 she was working as a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers football team, and in 1992, she moved to Los Angeles.

 

 

  While swimming in San Diego in 1991, she and two male acquaintances were assaulted by Henry Hubbard Jr., an ex- San Diego police officer and serial rapist, who attempted to subdue them with a gun. In the course of the battle she and her companions as well as Hubbard were shotand forced him to flee from the scene and both of them survived the assault. Hubbard was taken into custody, convicted, sentenced to 55 years of prison for a series of sexual assaults. Carpenter used Hubbard's flashlight to the beach which he left at the scene, and the flashlight ended up being an important piece of evidence used against him.

 

 

  Carpenter was listed as No. Carpenter was No. 31 on AskMen's top 99 Desirable Women 2002[3031. 44 on their 2005 list. Carpenter stated that she doesn't think of herself as a sex icon despite this. Carpenter was on the cover of Playboy magazine's June issue in 2004. She was also featured in a ten page nude pictorial. People magazine asked her 2005 whether she would be willing to do another photo for Playboy. Playboy was something I did for a very specific purpose. It was a prudent financial decision. It also seemed like that it was the best thing for me. My son was about to be born and I had gained 50 pounds in pregnancy. I wanted to feel like my former self. I wanted to feel attractive and attractive. I thought: "What if you went full throttle?"
